The story began over 45 years ago with founder Zak Nathan, whose entrepreneurial spirit took shape while painting houses during his college years. That dedication and hustle laid the foundation for Zak’s Fitness World—an iconic brand that helped revolutionize the modern fitness center model.

From there, Mr. Nathan applied his business acumen to real estate development, introducing the innovative concept of integrating fitness centers into student housing at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. His forward-thinking approach quickly expanded into sports nutrition, where he launched hundreds of products carried by major retailers like Walgreens and Walmart, including Carbo Coolers and ProTeam, developed specifically for athletes and the lactose intolerant.

His success continued in commercial real estate—building office spaces not just for his growing team but for top-tier clients like Prudential and Wachovia. He later entered the luxury condominium market with Whiting Estates Governors Row in West Hartford, CT—an award-winning community that solidified his reputation as a visionary in high-end development.

Nathan Industries evolved further when Mr. Nathan partnered with Peter D’Addeo of Commercial Services Realty. Together, they brought a boutique approach to residential and commercial projects across the Northeast—offering clients a personalized, one-stop-shop experience.
